Mission Statement:
We strive to provide young children with the very best care possible, and to promote their optimal development through appropriate play and activities.
Vision Statement:
BBLC is a place where children are cared for with love, individualized attention, and educational and developmentally appropriate experiences.
Our Five Critical Issues:
- Loving environment – Our primary goal is to provide each child with a stable, secure, and happy environment, so that they may grow in self-expression, love and trust, and develop a positive self image.
- Inclusivity – At BBLC, we do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, culture, ethnicity, sex, gender, religion, national origin, color, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial status, documentation status, special health care needs, developmental behavioral or mental health concerns, or identified disabilities.
- Quality Program – The activities at BBLC are planned to meet the standards set by state licensing and by Maine’s IT MELDS and MELDS.
- Health and Safety – The health and safety of our children, staff, and visitors is of primary concern to the center and we make every effort to provide a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
- Staff Education and Appreciation – BBLC is committed to hiring qualified staff, providing them with educational opportunities to grow professionally, and to providing competitive pay and benefits.
At Building Blocks Learning Center, we offer a range of programs designed to support the growth and development of children from ages 1 to 5. Our Toddler Room (ages 1-2) focuses on sensory exploration and socialization, providing a safe and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. The Transitional Room (ages 2-3) helps children develop their independence and early learning skills as they prepare for more structured activities. In our Explorer Room (ages 3-4), children engage in hands-on activities that foster creativity and curiosity. Finally, our Preschool Room (ages 4-5) prepares children for the next step in their educational journey, emphasizing early literacy, math, and social skills. Each program is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of children at every stage of their early development.
Funding Subsidies:
Building Blocks Learning Center accepts funding from many different sources, including but not limited to DHHS and the Department of Defense. Staff can help families find a program that suits the needs of their family and will assist with the process of application if requested.
